The UriFlow™ Catheter Valve is a practical device for patients with an indwelling catheter who, when medically suitable, want more control over bladder emptying. The valve is connected to the end of a urethral or suprapubic catheter and can be opened manually to drain urine at a desired moment.
Instead of continuous drainage into a urine collection bag, a catheter valve supports a more natural method of bladder emptying. The bladder can fill during the day and is then emptied periodically by opening the valve. This may contribute to greater freedom of movement, comfort and discretion for the user.
The UriFlow™ Catheter Valve is designed for simple daily use. Thanks to its clear open-and-close function, the valve can be operated in a controlled manner by the user or healthcare professional. The product therefore offers a practical alternative to conventional urine drainage systems, for example for patients who do not wish to wear a leg bag during the day or where a catheter valve is suitable within the care plan.
For an undisturbed night’s sleep, or in situations where continuous drainage is required, the catheter valve can be combined with a urine collection bag, depending on the chosen method of use and the system used. This makes the UriFlow™ Catheter Valve a flexible option within daily catheter care.
The use of a catheter valve is not suitable for every patient. Its use should always be assessed by a physician, nurse or continence care professional, taking into account factors such as bladder function, manual dexterity, cognitive ability and the patient’s general medical condition.
