Product description

SteriFlow™ safety insulin pen needles are designed for insulin administration with an insulin pen, with particular attention to the safety of healthcare professionals and patients. The pen needles are available in single-safety (Safety) and dual-safety (Safety+) versions. Depending on the version, the safety mechanism helps shield the needle after use either on the patient side, or on both the patient side and the pen side.

Needlestick injuries are a well-recognised occupational risk in healthcare and may lead to exposure to bloodborne pathogens such as HBV, HCV and HIV. European legislation therefore emphasises the importance of preventing sharps injuries in the hospital and healthcare sector, including through safe working procedures, training and the use of medical devices with integrated safety mechanisms1. International guidelines also recommend a structured approach to the safe handling of sharp medical devices and safe injection practices as part of infection prevention2-3

SteriFlow™ safety insulin pen needles support a standardised and safe workflow in diabetes care in hospitals, nursing homes, home care and other healthcare settings. The dual-safety version is particularly suitable when protection at both ends of the pen needle is desired.

Compatibility

SteriFlow™ safety insulin pen needles are designed for compatibility with the most commonly used insulin pens on the market. This allows them to be widely integrated into existing diabetes care processes, usually without the need to adjust current workflows.*

Applications

For subcutaneous insulin administration using compatible insulin pens. After use, the pen needle must be disposed of in accordance with applicable procedures for sharps waste.
