The Protextra™ Disinfecting Port Protectors (DPP) provide immediate, efficient and active disinfection of infusion ports. These caps replace the standard 'scrub the hub' procedure, thereby achieving standardisation and ensuring that every access is protected and maintained in the same way.
This is achieved by means of the filling of the DPP, which is provided with 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Several studies show that there is a clear association between a reduction in the risk of both CLABSI and PLABSI, and the use of disinfection caps with 70% IPA.
This product is compatible with all needle-free connectors and luer systems, is sterile packed, and free of PVC, DEHP and latex. The DPP are packed on a handy strip that can be hung on the infusion stand for optimum ease of use, but are also available in individual packaging.
We have four versions of these caps in our range, so that all common access points can benefit from the advantages of this product.
