The PCR Tubes and PCR Strips are designed for efficient and reliable PCR and qPCR workflows. Their extra-thin, uniform wall thickness supports rapid and even heat transfer between the thermocycler block and the reaction mixture. This contributes to consistent reaction conditions and can help reduce cycling times.
The range includes individual 0.2 mL PCR Tubes and eight-tube strips with a volume of 0.1 or 0.2 mL per tube. Different profiles, cap configurations and optical properties make it possible to select a suitable version for standard thermocyclers, fast thermocyclers and compatible qPCR systems.
The transparent 0.2 mL PCR Tubes feature a V-shaped bottom that supports the collection and recovery of small sample volumes. Their high transparency makes the tubes suitable for applications in which the optical qPCR signal is measured through the bottom of the tube.
Each tube features an attached frosted flat cap. The ergonomic design enables controlled one-handed opening and closing. The robust construction provides good mechanical and chemical resistance and withstands centrifugal forces of up to 6,000 × g.
The PCR and qPCR strips consist of eight connected reaction tubes and are available in two profiles:
The 0.1 mL qPCR strips are white and supplied with separate optically clear flat caps. These caps support fluorescence measurements through the top. The 0.2 mL PCR strips are transparent and available with either separate or attached frosted flat caps.
Compatibility depends on the thermocycler model and the required measurement method. The compatibility information for the relevant instrument should therefore be checked before use.
The extra-thin, uniform walls support efficient heat transfer during the heating and cooling stages of the PCR process. This allows the reaction mixture to respond rapidly to temperature changes and contributes to consistent amplification conditions.
The high transparency of the individual PCR Tubes and transparent strips supports applications in which the qPCR signal is measured through the bottom of the reaction tube. For systems that detect fluorescence through the top, the qPCR strips are supplied with optically clear flat caps.
The flat caps seal the tubes during thermal cycling. This helps limit sample loss and cross-contamination. For the PCR and qPCR strips, the manufacturer specifies an evaporation rate below 5%, supporting reproducible reaction volumes.
The PCR Tubes and PCR Strips are certified free of DNase, RNase, human DNA, PCR inhibitors and endotoxins. This helps reduce the risk of contaminants or inhibitory substances affecting the amplification reaction.
