Cylindrical connection with positive stop
Unlike conventional conical pipette tips, EL³ Pipette Tips use a cylindrical connection. The positive-stop feature ensures that the tip is positioned at a defined point on the pipette. This supports a consistent seal without requiring the tip to be pressed on with excessive force.
The tips can be attached and removed quickly using minimal force. This helps reduce physical strain on the hand and wrist during repetitive pipetting.
Compatibility
EL³ Pipette Tips are designed for use with pipettes featuring a Rainin® LTS™ connection*. Check the compatibility information before use to confirm that the tips are suitable for the relevant pipette brand and model.
Visual volume identification
The transparent pipette tips feature graduation marks for quick visual control during pipetting. Colour-coded trays make it easy to identify the correct tip and pipette volume:
- red for 20 µL;
- green for 200 µL;
- blue for 1,000 µL.
Standard and filter tips
Standard EL³ Pipette Tips are suitable for general and routine liquid-handling applications. Depending on the volume and packaging format, sterile and non-sterile versions are available.
Sterile EL³ Filter Tips are available for applications requiring additional protection against aerosols and liquid contamination. The filter creates a barrier between the sample and the pipette, helping reduce the risk of contamination of the sample, the pipette and subsequent samples.
Low Retention versions
EL³ Low Retention Tips feature a surface that reduces the adhesion of liquids to the inner wall. This minimises residual liquid and supports high sample recovery. These tips are particularly suitable for valuable samples and liquids that tend to adhere to plastic surfaces.
Sterile EL³ Low Retention Filter Tips are also available for sensitive and contamination-critical applications. They combine reduced liquid retention with the additional protective function of a filter.
Controlled production and purity
The pipette tips are manufactured in an ISO Class 8 cleanroom using an automated production process. They are made from highly transparent, medical-grade virgin polypropylene and are certified free of RNase, DNase, PCR inhibitors, endotoxins and pyrogens.
